The Guild of Aviation Artists, of which I am a full member, wanted in their 2011 annual exhibition, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first flight of the Lynx. I therefore decided I would try and paint one. Seeing how it has held the worlds speed record for rotary wing flight for some time, I thought that to get that speed effect in the painting would be nice.
