An Avro Lancaster BI of 101 Squadron makes its way through the cloud tops in bright moonlight. The lancaster of 101 Squadron flew with a conventional bomb load, but also carried specialist radio equipment and operator to jam the German night fighter communication frequencies. These aircraft could be identified by their large aerials, one under the nose section, and two on top of the fuselage.
